Handmade from pre-loved fabrics in Ireland, with love and care 🤍

Hiya, Ciara here!

I’m a sustainable fashion advocate and slow fashion designer who works with pre-loved textiles, deadstock fabrics and thrifted pieces to create luxury handmade accessories and apparel that give textiles a new lease of life.

I created Eeky Wyke in Autumn 2020, originally creating illustrated cards and prints. Soon after, I began my Masters degree in textiles and took inspiration from my studies to take things in a different direction. My focus of study centred around regenerative textile practices like Irish patchworking, and environmental and human exploitation in the global fashion industry. With the overarching theme looking at sustainable ways we can adopt a slower fashion approach. From there, came my first bag drop!

Eeky Wyke pieces are inspired by patchwork patterns, usually lots of gingham, and a love of unique second hand textiles. Using a mindful approach, I carefully hand make each quilted bag with care and utilise repurposed materials throughout.

As of right now, the label, wadding and linings of my bags are the only parts not consistently made using second hand fabrics. My branded labels Are made from a Custom woven 190gsm, soft double-faced smooth satin. For the bag linings, I currently use a half-processed and unbleached woven cotton that’s super durable and long lasting. While I try and source second hand wadding where I can, currently I’m buying it from a local Independent Haberdashery. All of my prints and thank you notes are always printed on recycled paper and scrunchies are handmade from all my delicious scrap fabrics I gather along the way1

Eeky like squeaky, Wyke like bike.
